Narrative Letter
Whenever I suppose of robbery and attacks like the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864 and the Chicago store shootings, they vividly remind me of my parents’ divorce. Some killings accompany most assaults except a few cases like Brinks attack in the United States (Dwyer 3). My company belief never expected any assault to have severe effects on family settings.
I’ve heard about households being destroyed by sheer grief, panic and nervous breakdowns after the attacks happen. My trust was totally right till an attack in December 2014. The attack came as a complete shock to the family, because it happened as though it used to be a kind of surreal set-up. I could not fathom how could it just happen immediately at a time of maximum withdrawal from the bank?
At the age of 15 years, the gangs took away everything from our family, and all family financial accounts were frozen. My mother’s daily activities that entirely depended on dad’s finances and frozen accounts were severely affected. She managed the private business with a merged family financial account, but the business collapsed shortly after. After some time, mom could no longer bear with the situation.
One morning, she decided to separate with my dad because of this situation. The house was in chaos that morning; my parents were arguing so loudly I could feel the noise resonating in every inch of my body. I could vividly see my family losing all respect it has maintained.
Mom: I can’t stay here anymore.
Dad: Don’t you think it’ll get better, just like it always happen?
Mom: Too much damage has been done.
Dad: Together we can turn it around.
Mom: I better just go.
Since that day, the belief I I’ve had for as long as I can remember myself has changed, as well as my feelings towards my mother, which could not remain as warm as they used to be.
