In this report, a research methodology for gathering information from the aviation sector is described. The information will be crucial because it will be used for a variety of objectives, either by the airline industry or by different people, such as scholars who wish to comprehend how the aviation sector functions. Ballard (2014) claims that this kind of information is also used by the Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) to develop innovative and lucrative safety initiatives for the sector. The main underlying assumption is that organizations with active employee cultures are more equipped to apply and implement appropriate procedures and plans than organizations with passive employee cultures. Employees who are likely to encourage effective change are those who have positive perceptions which lead to safety results in an organization.

To establish the validity of this hypothesis, we are going to study the opinions and cultures of employees in an organization and determine how these factors can affect the process of introducing a new change into the body. The hypothesis looks at the willingness of the employees to give genuine information about their level of satisfaction and their expectations from the organizational management. As it stated in the hypothesis statement, those employees who have a positive perception of new changes will give a reliable data without any exaggeration or bias. While those who have a negative attitude will lie to avoid any change; possibly they fear that new changes may impact negatively on their normal job operations i.e. extension of working hours or tedious training (Drax, 2014).

During the study, very crucial data about the aviation industry will be collected to facilitate the study. These data include the quality of flight attendances and services accorded to passengers, training and educating the staff.

In addition to this, the data is collected using different mediums in order to allow comparison and improve the reliability of the information recorded (Drax, 2014). The first method is the use of interviews, carrying out surveys and administering questionnaires among various airport attendants. Once one is through with data collection, it is profoundly analyzed to come up with the necessary recommendations and conclusions.

Population Sample

Since the study is carried out in the aviation industry, we are going to choose those people who are familiar with this industry. We are therefore going to randomly pick a pilot, flight attendants, engineers working at the airport, and members of the top management. To enhance the reliability of the data collected, we are going to pick them at random to ensure that, the other party does not influence the information given; it should be an individual`s point of view.

Our sample population covers all the departments within the industry to make the data more comprehensive (Bougie, 2013). That is why we consider the pilots who fall under the flight department, engineers who fall under the technical department, attendants who fall under the subordinate department and finally the management department.

Once data is collected from the sample and total population, it is analyzed to determine how it is related. Sometimes, the data collected may be similar and other times differ. The quality of data will depend on the willingness of the selected population, to tell the truth, without any exaggeration or biases.

Variables and Measures

The culture of an organization and its ability to adopt a new safety measure and the program has a significant relationship; Organizational culture is the shared assumptions and values that govern the behavior of employees in an organization. Culture plays a major role in the success of any organization; a real culture enhances growth while a corrupt culture discourages growth.

Organizational culture is an independent variable while safety measures are the dependent variable; it depends on the culture of the organization. A corporate culture that embraces change and teamwork and change can quickly adopt a new safety measure (Ballard, 2014). Culture promotes change because the employees through teamwork share the same values and therefore, have the same perspective to change. Culture also increases positive outcome in the organization and hence increasing performance in the workplace.

Institutions that put more emphasis on measures like integrity, honest and positive attitude towards new changes on their employees are more likely to succeed than those that do not do this. An organization should be willing to take a risk by adopting a new change because some risks may turn out to be very successful business ventures.

Data Collection Methods

There are some methods that one can use to gather data from passengers. Data collection, in this case, is by interviewing different groups who work in the airport. The group that is going to participate in an interview include the passengers and the top management; these are the groups who are much conversant with what goes on around the above-selected department.

We are going to carry out the unstructured interview. We prefer this method because we aim to obtain information from different groups, therefore; we are not going to set the same questions for all the groups. The questions will vary depending on the individual participating. Another reason why we prefer this method is because it allows us to do an expletory research (Bougie, 2013); we get to know more about the organization even what we had not planned to ask. The method will help us come up with a more comprehensive response from our interviewees.

Data analysis Methods

We are going to use qualitative data analysis method to analyze the collected data. We recommend this method because it gives us the chance to make our interpretation of the vast information gathered from the interviewees. Another reason that validates this approach is that interviews do not have a limitation on particular questions since they are guided by the researcher on a real time basis (Ballard, 2014). These will enable us to come up with useful information that can be used to improve the performance of the organization.
