Dixie is corrupt in his approach to voting on the street name upgrade. He thinks it's stupid to rename streets after him rather than the expected civil war generals. Dixie violates ethical norms that forbid voting if an individual stands to gain financially from it.
Dixie, the Commissioner, is not sorry for failing to speak out on his control of the firm. Instead, he blames the sensitivity of the people. “People are so damn emotional these days,” he thinks. He is, however, dissatisfied with the fact that the streets will be renamed. He says, “It is just a travesty that we are losing all these nods to history.” Dixie expresses duplicitous character in his power exercise. He presents outrageous deeds in voting for the change of street’s names as a leader. Maria Diaz affirms these allegations when she says that, ““Yet again, the ones in power are duplicitous,” referring to Dixie’s deals.
He views the actions that have transpired the votes with contempt and disregards everything that was considered relevant by other citizens. He abuses his power as a Commissioner, an act that the people are not aware of, as one of the Hollywood resident comments that, “Changing the street names was the right thing to do., Sand asks, “… what if Dixie has connections to the sign company?” He is, however, not pleased that the streets are going to change names. He says, “It is just a travesty that we are losing all these nods to history."
