The United States is amongst the many countries where drug addiction is affecting the society. The variety of people on drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, and heroin among others looks to be rapidly increasing with youths being the group that is most affected. The continual challenge facing the country on drug dependancy has been a federal issue for a long time as it is trying to resolve this problem by enacting more federal legal guidelines on the war on drugs. For America, as a nation to understand how it can control the escalating rate of drug addiction within the country, there is a want for an understanding of what is causing more humans to begin using drugs. Increased unemployment, psychological issues, and peer influence are some of the primary causes of the rapid rate of drug addiction in the United States.

Although many Americans have stable work, many are still struggling to get work, and they become ideal making them resort to drug use. Unemployment is the primary cause of idleness, as a matter of fact, unemployment has been linked to many problems affecting the society including drug addiction and increased violence. Most of the American citizens who are unemployed find themselves involved in drug use to pass the time. Having no work, they find pleasure in getting themselves high on drugs. In most cases, those addicted to trigs are likely to become violent and involve themselves in specific activities like stealing with the aim of getting money to buy drugs. With the increasing employment rate in most parts of the country, it is likely to be noted that drug use will undoubtedly increase as more people have an idle mind. Creating more job opportunities may be a turning point in employing more people within the social business thus their mind gets occupied making them have no time for drug use.

A second significant cause of drug addiction within the United States is the psychological issues affecting the most of the American citizens. Many people within the country have their problems ranging from stress to depression. People are being faced with many problems, and if one could have an opportunity to see through other people, then it will be possible to see the inside burden that people suffer from in their lives. Stress is a bad condition, and it comes in many ways. During stressful times, people tend to try to find means in which they can manage their stress. It is with the issues of stress that people developed the notion that when one is stressed, they resort to using alcohol to make them forget about the painful moments nagging their emotions. Stress is something the government cannot control because it is a personal matter.

Drug addiction is increasing as people resort to it in with the aim of managing their psychological problems. The burden of psychological issues is always high to an extent some people cannot bear with it making them to make wrong choices of drug use instead of seeking advice from therapists. Research indicates that out of four people walking in a group, four are faced with psychological problems such as stress that make them more vulnerable to using drugs with the aim of controlling their emotional issues. Creating more advisory links and employment of more therapist can be a starting point in lowing rate of drug addiction by advising those affected by psychological problems. Adequate pieces of advice will make those with psychological issues to resort to better ways of managing their stress rather than resorting to drug use as a means of solving the same. Without more therapist to help those with psychological problems, more Americans will get involved with drug addiction.

Peer influence is another cause of drug use affecting the American society. Peer influence is affecting every society globally both positively and negatively. In this case, peer influence is affecting the American nation adversely because it has become the leading factor in drug addiction. Reports indicate that more college students, especially peers always move in groups, and in such situations, they are most likely to influence themselves into drug use in case a few within the group were already on drugs. If the learning institutions do not find a better means of guiding and counseling the students, the increase in drug use will continue.

Factors that lead to the problems of drug addiction within the country are unemployment, psychological issues, and peer influence. The government must try and find creative solutions that can be used in solving the problem of Unemployment which causes more people to be idle and use drugs. Creating more job opportunities within the country will be more than just helping the society financially, but will also keep the idle minds busy making more people not to resort to drug use. To manage the behavioral influence to using drugs by those having psychological issues such as stress, there must be more therapists within the nation to assist such people. Furthermore, until learning institution such as universities and colleges increase their guidance and canceling programs, many students will get involved in drug use because of peer influence.
