We arrived at Barrack Hall at exactly nine o'clock. My friend Jane began hopping and shouting that today was going to be a day in the history books. It was the finals of the violin competition, and the embossed, florid, and themed Barrack hall will tell you all. The site was delicate, intricate, and lovely. I was happy with my progress, and I walked to see others excel and find fulfillment in their work. My decisions were output-oriented, and I considered the consequences first, and this time I was confident Jane would win the prize.
Jane's life was greatly influenced by the honorary prize. She understood that it was an award that was meant to acknowledge her best performance. For instance, as soon as she reached the stage, all the classmates stood and cheered as they waited to witness her prowess in playing the violin. I had never heard such a soft, soothing, and relaxing tune playing the violin. The atmosphere in Barrack's hall was magnificent. Her performance communicated power, confidence, style diversity and a well-mastered art of playing the violin. Everybody was lost in her musical rhythm and knew that she would turn out the winner, but to their disbelief, she was the first runners-up.
Her declaration created uproars, and when doing the follow-up, it turned out that the winner had given a bribe to the judges. This shameful act caused other violinists to lose their confidence in the judges whom they believed had been acting corruptly all along. The aspiring violinists were turned off, and they got the notion that their talent would take them nowhere. All promising dreams were cut short. Jane, on the other hand, did not give up even though she didn't get her reward she vowed never to take part in a violin contest. A promising talented girl denied what she had for so long sweat.
In my opinion, an individual's behavior impacts other people surrounding him or her. Talents should be nurtured too and given avenues to showcase in contests. It encourages not only other aspiring individuals but also produces responsible citizens. The corrupt judges at the violin contested created a negative image to contestants on lack of openness and accountability. Corruption should have severe punishment by the existing laws be it in contests, places of work, and public and private run enterprises among others. It promotes economic growth and provides for social development.
In conclusion, we can say that a vice that contravenes our ethics contributes negatively to our day to day lives. Wrong choices like deciding to take shortcuts have serious implications, and we should be ready if we make wrong choices. The judges decided to take the wrong choice and took a bribe which in turn cost them their jobs and reputation. Efforts should be recognized and awarded by merit always.
