Suicide Attempt

People engage in a variety of irresponsible activities unwittingly because stress causes them to lose control of their emotions. Many cases have been reported in the United States of America, with youngsters aged 15 to 24 years being the most impacted, particularly in suicidal situations. According to a 2015 CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) report, the expense of managing suicidal cases, whether through advice and counseling or suicidal post issues, was nearly $44 billion. According to the CDC, suicide was the tenth leading cause of death in the United States in 2015, and the third leading cause of death among adolescents. Mental disorders which come as a result of drug and substance abuse are the second causes of death among the youth from suicide. It mostly affected the black Americans and those in the adolescent bracket as compared to other races and ethnic groups. Suicide is believed to be as a result of various environmental stress which needs to be managed before and after the incidence of suicide, which will be discussed in the context.

Both individual and environmental factors which lead to suicide can be discussed in ecological platforms which evaluates the effects of distinct levels, general performance and the impacts. Individual factors are very much recognized in the theory of ecology since many of the cases witnessed came as a result of personal attributes and lack of people to share the problems with. The role of an individual under the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and chronosystem is emphasized in ecological systems in this case. Suicide as said earlier is geared towards by mental disorders which may be brought about by stress, demographic factors such as age, race and gender and medical problems and this were mostly evidenced in the black American females in the adolescent stage.

Structure and level of the family functioning is another environmental factor that may lead to suicide, not forgetting the parent-offspring coexistence and parental planning. External contributors such as the mass media and cultural factors also contribute greatly towards the adolescent committing suicide whenever they get themselves into bad situations they did not expect. They indulge themselves in the tragedy to evade the pain and regrets of the world.

Ecological system framework is the best method to come up with the exact causes of suicidal cases as it longitudinally investigates and lays down the conclusions from the area of environmental stress, gender factors in the case of Black Americans who live in suburban regions. It is clear that younger people in the adolescent stage are always unable to control their emotions and hence end up committing suicide as compared to older adolescents who are not maturing in life. it is because these young ones lose hope in life and lack encouragement and focus on the future life.

Mental disabilities and suicide cases, as well as drivers to poverty, are also found to be contributed to, by three factors. The first one being the level of stress from the environment which leads to high chances of attempting suicide as it always occurs directly proportional to the level of environmental stress. Another one is the different classes of environmental stress which are witnessed before and after attempting the tragedy. They are embraced by lower levels before suicide especially for the female Black American adolescents, but the levels increase after the incidence. Finally, there is the baseline level of stress which predicts the dire process of the whole thing and states that the lower the baseline, the higher the environmental stress and the greater the chances of committing suicide. With the know-how and the capacity to identify all these ways that lead to actions of suicide, researchers have been helped a lot by the environmental analysis techniques and thus being in a position to interact freely with victims of this state.

Psychological health and well-being of the adolescents is mostly affected by the environmental stress factors which loosen the hope and determination of the youth, making them not to stay focused on their lives. Classification of people according to the race, color and errors have greatly led to an increased death rate of Black Americans as compared to the White Americans who do not witness such incidences in their lives. Many male adolescent Black Americans have been proved to be committing suicide by use of firearms, most of them doing it less likely from the influence of drug and substance abuse. Lack of job opportunities which created a lot of idleness among the youth because there are discrepancies between the white and Black Americans is also discussed as the cause of the Black Americans in committing suicide.

Suicide among the Black Americans should be acted upon by both the researchers and the victims, putting to considerations various factors such as the cultural and demographic aspects which have consistently repeated themselves in occurrence. There is the need for thorough analysis on those factors which directly influence that young Black Americans to engage in suicide as the only way of solving their problems. Parents must offer specialized guidance and counseling to their children to enable them to know that what their parents earn should not alter or predetermine their future lives.
