A Qualitative Study on Communication in Acute Stroke
Payne, Burton, Addington-Hall, and Jones (2010) conducted a study that used a cross-sectional qualitative design where semi-structured interviews were used as means of gathering data. The sample population was allowed to share its perspectives on the topics included in the interview questions. The conclusion was that it is paramount for communication to be improved between health professionals, family, and patients among seriously ill patients suffering from stroke.
The used research methodology in this study was utilized in making the conclusion. As such, the researchers ensured that the reliability and validity level of the utilized methodology was a key factor in developing conclusions on the topic. It is the methodology that assisted in gathering data and offering the guideline for results analysis and discussion (Shi, 2008). Moreover, an empirical evidence was used in this research, which resulted into the development of logic thinking. This assisted in developing the conclusion. A quick check on the logic and observation depicts that they all arrive at the same conclusions, which are utilized by the researcher. The errors expected in this research are also limited since there are no limited events in research methodology, there are also no misinterpretations, and problems measurement is not experienced. Further, correlation is not used to depict a causal relationship in this study. The conclusion developed helps in generalization of the research views since the research methodology depicts cause and effect.
