The healthcare surroundings of an ear, nose and throat clinic takes into consideration the incorporation of exceptional particular types of tools that help in the examination process. ENT is classified underneath the division of Otolaryngology where services on commonplace and advanced care for conditions affecting the head and neck areas are provided. Further, designing and construction the clinic requires enough area to be allocated to the various sections wanted in running activities efficiently. It is vital that the designers and the interior architects allocate enough room, specifically for the health segments. Besides, it should be made in such a way that it caters for the prestigious and esthetic desires of those working and visiting the hospital to provide a holistic healthcare experience. The outpatient department within the hospital is used for consultation and examination, screening, pre-operative assessment, surgery, counseling, monitoring of identified patients and discharge of those treated (Carmel-Gilfilen & Portillo, 2016). As such, an empathetic design should be used to foster care culture for the staff, patients, and families. The user equipment needs should be present and set in such a way that they are readily available in the assessment and treatment process (Carmel-Gilfilen & Portillo, 2016).

It is imperative that evidence based research be incorporated in designing the health care environment of an ENT clinic. Consequently, the designer should be up to date with the improved equipment and working space necessary to be incorporated in within the hospital in ensuring that the right designs on the design of the environment are made (van Hoof et al., 2015). The activities included in developing the clinic need to be made on recent research in keeping up with improved technology. As such, in the designing ENT clinic, I will review the available published research on the design of similar projects in the past. The research will mostly involve the development of outpatient clinics to ensure that the right design is made. A review of the available web designs would also be necessary to address the methodological issues that would arise in the process of designing the clinic. Additionally, I would interview the various stakeholders, such as the staff and patients, to get their views on the best design they prefer for the ENT clinic (van Hoof et al., 2015). The necessary information would be in the various sections that need to be incorporated into the design to ensure satisfactions of the clients with the services offered. I would then use the information to create a collaborative working space that is sufficient for the staff and waiting room for the patients and family (van Hoof et al., 2015). Necessary measures will then be provided and subsequently shared with the management of the given hospital to ensure that required use and approve.

In programming the project, the overall goal is to provide enough space for the activities carried out in the clinic. The space needed for different activities will, therefore, be listed and their functions identified (Ballast, FAIA & No, 2013). Also, all actions to be performed in the various sections will be provided in the section descriptions with the necessary furniture and equipment needs. The resources that will be necessary in the design will include human and economic resources. It is imperative that individual skills are incorporated in programming and identifying the best design to provide satisfaction to the clients while providing the care they need (Ballast, FAIA & No, 2013). More so, the presence of all the necessary equipment such as the computer, lighting system and furniture will be essential to ensure that the best results are achieved.
