Ethical Dilemmas in Nursing Management
In every organization, there are specific laws that govern the daily operation. There also codes of ethics that control how the services are issued to clients. In the health sector, some of these ethics and laws are meant to protect the patients whereas some are meant cover the health practitioners. Aitamaa, Leino, and Suhonen come from the University of Turku; Aitamaa practices in Satakunta Hospital District while Leino practices at Hospital District of Southwest Finland. Having encountered some of the ethical dilemmas, they decided to highlight them and suggest possible solutions the issues.
The article depicts some of the ethical problems the nurses and the nurse managers’ face as they perform their duties, and is based on a study carried out in a number of hospitals. It further features the role of codes of ethics in providing a sustainable solution to some of the ethical challenges. The article also develops new guidelines in ethics that are essential for nursing management personnel. In addition, it identifies some of the professional codes of ethics that frequently used to resolve problems related to patients care.

He has taught law in higher education and has been teaching health care law and ethics in nursing for several years.
In his book, Patient’s Rights, Law and Ethics for Nurses, he extensively covers all the types of laws from childhood laws to patient and nurses rights. With clear examples of court cases, the author illustrates different kinds of violation of the healthcare laws and ethics. He goes further to analyze the examples to portray ways in which the laws were violated and who was in the wrong. Furthermore, he highlights some of the ethics for nurses that are directed towards offering quality service to patients and protecting their rights at the same time.
