Fundamentals of the Bill Of Rights
The bill of rights is essentially comprised of the first ten amendments to the constitution of the United States of America. The bill of rights was drafted as a response to the anti-federalists who wanted an increased protection of individual liberties by the constitution. As such, the bill of rights essentially places limits on the powers of the government, particularly when dealing with individuals.

The bill of rights are; the first amendment which guarantees the freedom of conscience or religion. The second amendment grants the citizens the right to bear arms. The third amendment grants the citizens the right to private ownership of their property in terms of military interference in times of war. The fourth amendment guards the citizen against unreasonable seizures and searches. The Fifth Amendment protects the individual from self-incrimination, while the sixth amendment guarantees the individual the right to a speedy trial. The seventh amendment gives provisions for a jury hearing while the eighth amendment prohibits excessive bails and punishments by the court system. The ninth amendment highlights the relationship between the bill of rights and the powers vested in the state and its people while the tenth amendment states that powers that are not federal government by the constitution shall be reserved to the states and or its people

The bill of rights is a necessary addition to the constitution of the United States. Without it, there would be an increase in public riots and protests. As a matter of fact, the bill of rights was a truce between the federalists and the non-federalists after a period of war.
