Advertisements in all newspapers, including pharmaceutical goods, cars, and household appliances, are available for a large variety of products. Different companies have become the standard for advertisements to market them. They just want to convince the spectator to buy their products; the corporation doesn't mind them. Not everybody in society will look or complexion the same as the lotion ads portray or the same interest in SUV driving. I agree that the perfume ads show photoshopped images that rarely exist in real life. The same case with body lotion ads that show flawless bodies of beautiful, slender women with the perfect body shapes. The men in these ads are always masculine and have perfect skin texture. The responsible companies claim that is what would happen if someone used their product. In my opinion, this is wrong because not everybody can have the type of body shown in the advert; fat people, children, and the elderly too see these ads and would like to use the product. In reality, these categories of individuals should be told the effect of the product individually.
The Influence of Advertisements
The adverts have a great influence in the society right from people's perception, personal traits, and buying habits. The ads, therefore, should be realistic and present what an average person can comprehend. We don't have to use the products in the advert to make us feel beautiful, confident, or to boost our self-esteem; this is the problem with these ads, they make us feel something is wrong, and we need to fix it by using the advertised product. Men and women in society have different personalities and many types of beauty; we should stop giving people false hope by promoting unachievable ideas in ads.
