In the last five decades, America has seen a rise in life expectancy. For 65-year-olds the life expectancy has increased to more than 30 percent from 1950 to 2002. (Cai & Lubitz, 2007). In addition, ageing is a disease where a person becomes inactive due to health and physical difficulties to perform everyday work. The implications and solutions of an aging public on society are therefore discussed in this article. Impact of an Aging Population on the Society Old aged disability is majorly enhanced by chronic sicknesses like arthritis and heart infections. However, there has been a decrease in the number of persons with the limitation on the daily activity among the aged. Mostly, the individuals tend to have difficulties in simple undertakings such as working and house chores (Cai & Lubitz, 2007). Additionally, the majority relies on the care of both formal and informal health workers like families, friends or relatives.
Moreover, numerous aging individuals at the age 44 tend to engage in commercial sex as a result of decreased women in their age circle and communities. Relatively, uneven distribution of ratio of women and men in the society results to premarital sex and increased sexual diseases (South & Trent, 2010).

Medical Advances
Development in the health care service for treatment of cardiovascular illness has led to an improved life expectancy. Additionally, enhanced nutritional values and regulation of infectious diseases have also propagated the lifespan of the old (Cai & Lubitz, 2007).
Environment
Improvement of the living surrounding of the aged tends to increase the lifespan of the elderly. Moreover, developments in housing that assists the aging personnel to feel better at homes have tremendously increased, thus, facilitating the lifespan (Cai & Lubitz, 2007).
Conclusion
The aged in society have a significant effect on the community as majority tend to have severe disabilities that hinder daily performance with some resulting in increased mortality. However, development of health care and environmental conditions have enhanced an increased lifespan of the individuals.
