Request to the Elected President
In Korea, there has been a season of economic uncertainty and rise in security threats in the past years. However, having elected the new president has given hope to many since it has brought an end to the many months of political turmoil in the country and the tensions that the Koreans have been facing. Therefore, given an opportunity to request one thing from President Moon, I would seek the improvement of the security of Korean by establishing strong relationships with the neighboring countries. It is through the trust created by other nations that the Koreans may feel protected and having an opportunity to get established without the fear of threats. Additionally, to boost the level of security within the country, the president will need to be involved in a greater diplomatic role in dealing with the current nuclear threat that faces us. He, for instance, can enter into a peaceful agreement with both the United States and China to assure them that he is willing to serve the country under the best conditions. This is because creating the inter-Korean relations will best ensure the security of the country is enhanced and that the country is involved in aids and exchanges.
On the other hand, it is my belief that the 'Sunshine policy' that had been formed by the former president of US and China should not be acted upon until the economic situation is settled and further discussion made on its relevance.
As such, the deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) system will need to be delayed for a later date and not that agreed between the former president and the US. The elected president is, therefore, required to engage in meetings and discussions to arrive at mutual agreements and create better relationships with other countries.
