The Role of a Healthcare Administrator
I am a student at Saint Leo University undertaking a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Healthcare Management. The reasons for pursuing a career in healthcare management is because I love helping the people in need especially the sick and improving the quality of life for other people. Once I complete my Master’s degree, I would love to work as an intern at Florida Hospital, and this will give me the experience needed to pursue my career as an Executive Healthcare Director.
My career goal is to own a healthcare facility where I will employ people from nearby communities and offer treatment to the sick people in the communities. The entire healthcare facility depends on the work that Healthcare administrators do. The capabilities of the administrators help the doctors in discharging their mandate of offering medical services to the sick. The compassion and dedication of Healthcare professionals help the patients that rely on hospitals and other healthcare facilities in getting the help they need.
Also, decisions made by health care professionals improves the lives of many people every day. A deep sense of responsibility and mission that healthcare executives have helps them in serving the people in need. I participate in volunteering activities whereby I am involved in healing others in my community. I play a major role in the community through the healing, and this has made people see the valuable role played by administrators in bridging the gap between socioeconomic divides.
Healthcare facilities are essential in volunteering activities in the community as they have the ability to collaborate with other organisations and local governments to help build cohesion in the society. I am a mother of one baby, soon to be two, and work as a full-time admission advisor while attending school. I had to work as motherhood, paying bills and owning a home required money, and this had an effect on my overall grades. Even though living alone has taught me many things, it has become tough to fund my college education.
Scholarships are the best alternative to advancing in the field of healthcare as they help one with the finances needed to complete their course. Not only does a scholarship help one with money but receiving one makes one work hard as they were probably given the scholarships because they are the best students at the school. Knowing this makes one work even harder and dedicate themselves to their studies. I would love to be among those that get scholarships as this will help me pursue my education with commitment and determination.
