This paper is primarily intended to examine and present a particular Shark tank episode, splitting each episode into four parts. Per section is interpreted differently. THE KOOLER
The Company being evaluated is known as ‘The Kooler’ presented by a Body Builder known as Henderson. The Kooler is a special cooler that is used for storing multiple drinks together. It is well designed for storing the drinks at an ice – cold temperature; it keeps three drinks within one Container and is suitable for people who like going the Gym and doing regular exercises.
During the discussion, about 75% of the Shark tanks bailed out on supporting Henderson and his Business idea. Daymond John was the only Shark who made an offer of $50000 for a 33.3% stake; Henderson was left with no choice but to accept the offer (YouTube, 2017). Currently the Kooler Company operates by selling most of its Products and goods online through Stan Efferding and the Kooler website. LITTLE NOMAD
The second Company being presented was ‘The Little Nomad.’ There are very different types of mat in the World today; each mat is differentiated from the other based on their design, texture and make. Little Nomad is a type of play mat that is not toxic and is favorable for children playing on. It can also be used as an exercise mat for people who like to work out as well as a Kitchen mat. The Company develops Nomad mats that come in different sizes to suit the buyer. The discussion between the tanks was very interesting; 100% of the Shark tank members opted to bail out on funding the Company.
Some of the main reasons that made the Sharks to bail out are; A poor distribution system. ‘Little Nomad’ does not have diverse selling/distribution systems; the company focuses on selling its products online. Other reasons include the fact that Little Nomad has not shipped any of its products; Shark members were not sure of the sales that had being made the Company. Lastly the Products being sold by ‘Little Nomad’ were generally expensive and most people could not afford them (YouTube, 2017). Currently the main headquarters of the Company are based in London; 485 Park Avenue, West Hartford.
RINSEKIT
‘The Shower’ method is one of the most convenient method of washing in the World today. The third representation in the Show was about a Company known as the Rinsekit. This kit is the only shower that can be moved from one place to the other. It operates without the use of batteries, electricity and batteries. The Kit can be able to hold as much as 2 gallons of water at a go; it can be able to spray the compressed water at an average of between 4 – 5 minutes. According to the Company representatives, as a result of its portability; one can be able to use it anywhere they want. Most of the Sharks were convinced about this product and about 75% of them wanted to invest in the Company; it was a tight horse-race between the Sharks.
Robert Herjavec offered them $250000 for a 20% stake of the Company; Kevin O’Leary on the other hand offered $250000 as a loan and a 5% stake in the Company. Lori Greiner the offered them a $250000 as a loan, a 5% stake in the Company and a sales commission that was equal to Chris’s Partner (YouTube, 2017). Daymond John made an offer of giving them $250000 for a 7.5% stake as well as commission on sales. The Company representatives were very confused on what option they had to take or leave. In the end, the Company representatives had no choice but to side or Partner with Daymond John. This was the most favorable offer so far. Currently; the Company operates by selling their goods and products through online services. The last segment of the episode was about a Company known as Dbest. The Company has been in existence for close to 15 years. Some of the main products that are developed by the Company are Collapsible Carts and coolers, folding dollys and backpacks as well as Pet carriers that are collapsible. All of the Products that have been mentioned above can be folded for compact storage. The discussion between the Judges was also tight in this segment; some of the offers that were made by the Sharks were Daymond’s offer of $350 for a 15% stake of the Company (YouTube, 2017). Daymond also promised to fulfil and finance the Company’s future orders.
Kevin O’Leary on the other hand offered a sum of $350000 as a line of credit that goes at an interest of 18% together with a 5% stake. Robert Herjavec bailed out on financing Dbest Products; Lori Greiner was the last Shark to give an offer of $350000 for 15% stake of the Company. Later on Mark and Lori agreed together and offered Dbest a $350000 offer with a 20% stake plus 2 million line of credit at a minimum of 15% in interest (YouTube, 2017). The sharks were so tight that Dbest was confused on which offer to pick on; out of frustration Daymond pulled out since the Company’s representative was confused and wanted credits that could not be reached.
Dbest wanted an offer of $700000 for a 15% stake as well as line of credit to fund all the Companies current and future orders. The Sharks declined this offer and he was forced to accept Mark and Lori’s offer in investing in the Company; in the end Dbest signed a deal with the Mark and Lori.
