There can be no overlooking the value of early literacy in children. This is due to the fact that their progress at school and perhaps in their lives depends heavily on their ability to learn, write and understand their problems. Children's literacy is an ongoing process that begins at birth and progresses over time. A description of the principles taught at different universities is illustrated in this context. Specific work has also been explored with respect to curriculum theories. The pre-K students are called pre-school students. I will use concepts: maths, reading, and academics in fine arts Various concepts can be applied to teach in different academic areas. These techniques and concepts differ from one academic area to another. It is worth noting that skills acquired at this level are likely to form the basis for the future scientific understanding, innovations, and inventions. The fact that children are very curious about what nature provides is a catalyst for their urge to understand the subject. As such, in science the following concepts may be employed to teach in early childhood classrooms: one is through giving the children an opportunity in careful and aided exploration of objects and material those children they across. Secondly, asking relevant questions relating to items the children find in their immediate environments. Another concept is the description of items, including living things in terms, for example, shape, size, and number; And at the same time compare and contrasting in the basis of simple classifications.

In the field of mathematics, the following concepts can be applied to enhance mathematics growth and development amongst the preschoolers. In the United States, The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) has exerted pressure to ensure that school children are the best standards for achievements. All parties inclusivity, that' is to strengthen mathematics performance parents and educators have a role to undertake primarily by ensuring effective mathematics learning programs.  The following concepts and practices may be employed in successfully teaching mathematics in early childhood education. Firstly is gathering essential baseline information I term of understanding the concepts and skills which a child has learned to be able to offer valuable support. This can be implemented early in the pre-school year. Secondly is closely monitoring how far the child in terms comprehending concepts to provide the appropriate instruction and support. Also making mathematics real and the most time subject that is carried out everywhere, at school, and even at home (Jung & Conderman, 2013). Then teaching mathematics should be less passive, that is learning and listening only, instead, on practical activities should be embraced.

In the field of the arts, I would teach the following concepts to ensure children's quick understanding on the subject. For example, displaying some of the artworks done by others and some of the ones done by the children. This will act as a motivation to the children, and as they strive to perfect and do better artworks than the ones already done, their creativity and thinking levels develop largely. The concept of sharing of children own artworks can also aid in the creation of innovation among the children.

Reading forms the basis by which all other learning disciplines rely upon. It is, therefore, critical to ensure children comprehend reading of all the material for their language. I would use concepts such adopting a culture of story books reading. This would expose the children to more information and stories. I would read to them loudly so as to enable them to grasp even the pronunciation. I would then support the reading culture by allowing the children to try and read simple books and paintings related to class activities.

Teaching activities as a demonstration of the theories and the requirements by the National Association of Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in each academic area

The academic areas will be, in science, mathematics, fine arts and reading practices. NAEYC is a professional organization that is concerned with excellence promotion in the education of young children in the United States. The main aim of NAEYC is to ameliorate the working and practice profession in early childhood education. It also ensures early childhood programs are supported to realize the best quality early childhood education systems. In the choice theory and to some extent in the student directed learning theory, and in the academic mathematics area, I would allow the children to teach each other and allow all to participate in the teaching process (Rietveld, 2012).

Additionally, I would also enable the children to select the most appropriate and best-suited method to teach them this would be in line with the developing loyalty and commitment of the young children by offering them an opportunity to participate and contribute to critical aspects. In the field of science, and about student-directed theory, I would allow the preschoolers to at times decide on whether they want to attend to practical exposure of the livings and non-living things as provided by nature outdoors or do class work.  This would be supported by the NAEYC regarding exposing the children in understanding the environment. Also, the preschoolers should follow to the later the rules and procedures to ensure their safety during practical outdoor activities. This would be in the application of the Behavior Management theory.

In the field of reading practices, the preschoolers should be given an opportunity to read stories of their interests. This should, however, check on the approval of the available curriculum. That freedom would enable the children to develop passion in reading hence advancing. As such, this would be in support and a representation of the student directed theory. It is also a representation and requirement of the NAEYC of preparing the preschoolers to develop best reading skills. This would develop them appropriately to even excel in other curriculum subjects.

In the fine art academic areas and concerning the behavior management theory I would teach the preschoolers to draw and rely on materials related to the curriculum and which are educative, otherwise light punishments would be meted to those children who violates that. I would also teach them about the need to preserve the artworks that have been done and displayed either by the other kids or by the teachers. This will, in turn, teach them to be responsible in all their endeavors as well as make the resources reusable by more preschoolers.

Conclusively, teaching young childhood classes are very critical as to a larger extent it defines the direction of the life of such preschoolers. As such, basic concepts that I would employ in teaching different academic areas have been elaborated. These concepts have also been related to various theories of curriculum development.
