Environmental destruction is the weakening of the environment through the abuse of natural resources. Contamination of the natural world is, on the other hand, waste. Responsibility for the environment is an important field that is constantly recognised and leads to everyone's long-term prosperity. Thirdly land pollution is caused by human activities such as urban growth and sprawl. The increased human population results in the clearing of more lands for settlement and cultivation. This, therefore, results in the displacement of wild animals from their natural habitats. Moreover, industrial activities emerge daily and carry out different manufacturing activities. Some industrial products such as polyethylene and plastic litter the environment leading to degradation. Also, some companies engage in mining activities which damage the top fertile soils. These firms create depressions which fill with rainwater and runoff leading to environmental degradation. As well, the increased demand for food results in poor agricultural practices. People have come up with different farming activities which exhaust the soil. Such activities include overstocking and continuous cultivation on the same piece of land.

The environmental and natural resource laws, as well as the Ecological Regulations, prevent business and individual practices from polluting the environment. Several environmental regulations have been put in place to regulate both large and small companies in the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency has aims to protect the world from the practices and behavior of the owners and management of entities. As a result, their products and services do not harm the environment as they would have initially done.

This intersection of conservation and Customs Law makes it illegal to transfer, move, or trade in certain wildlife, fish, and plants. Violations of the Lacey Act can lead to severe civil and criminal penalties.
Further, the individual and business practices are limited by the Veterans’ Choice Program Extension and Improvement Act. Asbestos exposure is the cause of multiple diseases such as mesothelioma or asbestosis. This mineral which occurs naturally in the environment has been exploited for decades before its devastating effects. They would be forced to compensate these veterans for predisposing them to the dangers of the material.
