Judaism emerged in 2000 BC from the God-Abraham compromise on the fate of the ancient people of Israel (Before Christ). God later named Moses out of captivity in Egypt to direct the Israelites and to pronounce the law regulating the Jews. Hinduism emerged in the Indus Valley between 4000 and 2500 BCE. The idea for Hinduism was the belief in all things, a Brahman kingdom. Just like Judaism, Islam is based on the faith of Abraham, Moses and the ancient Israel religion and was founded by Prophet Muhammad in 622 CE (Common Era). Islam is guided by the Holy Quran and is a monotheistic religion with the followers believing in one creator, unlike Hinduism that is polytheistic. Siddhartha Gautama founded Buddhism in 535 BCE after reaching ultimate enlightenment and took the title of Budha. Budhism promotes the ideals of finding a middle ground in existence as opposed to mortifying the flesh or hedonism. Unlike Judaism and Islam, Buddhists do not participate in any prayers or pay homage to any God ("The Major World Religions").

Jews and Muslims believe in one supreme God as the creator of the universe, and he alone deserves worship. Judaism expects followers to exhibit the inherent good of the world as the rightly chosen people of God. Five pillars guide Muslims: recitations of Shahada daily, prayers on five occasions, being sympathetic to the less fortunate and regularly donating, fasting during Ramadhan and being a pilgrim in Makkah at least once in a lifetime. Hindus follow a strict caste system that determines the position of every individual. Hindus go through cycles known as Samsara to progress towards true enlightenment. Buddhists read and follow the teachings of Budha as they also go through cycles of birth, life, and death in a bid to attain knowledge, just like Hinduism. However, unlike Islam that requires ritualistic worship to one God, Buddhists strive to detach from self-absorption and desire to achieve ultimate enlightenment ("The Major World Religions").

Every religion is the focal point for the way of life of the people who practice it. For example, Jews believe that they are the chosen people of God and their behavior is strict and evident even in their manner of spending. The Jews are some of the wealthiest people due to a strict following of the teachings of their elders and rabbis. Given that Hinduism and Buddhism progress from cycles of development, the cultures of the people of these religions are extreme on both sides of the spectrum. For instance, on one side of Hinduism and Buddhism are enlightened people who lead the ultimate lives of selflessness and goodness while on the other hand, one can find utterly morally corrupt people. However, Buddhism has spread rapidly and integrated different religions and customs of other socializations. Given the strict regimen for a Muslim, Islam dominated outside mannerisms do not readily influence cultures. For example, the women follow a strict dressing code that is not subject to changes in fashion. Islamic cultures believe in their supremacy and therefore always influence other cultures.

Different religions exist in the world due to people’s rejection that there is only one supreme God to be worshipped by all (Halterman). Therefore, people respond differently to the idea of the existence of God and form a set of beliefs, religion, to show that they can reach the level they desire without God. Some religions such as agnostic came from the unclear truth about the existence of God. True faith is not based on some rituals but on the premise of loving our creator and all the people he created. True religion shows selflessness and promotes the will of others which in turn helps the follower to become better themselves.

Science disputes the existence of God by promoting reason over creation. However, history teaches of the existence of many gods. This study submits that both science and history are inaccurate, and there is only one supreme God. Science does not give enough evidence to dispute creation while history is sketchy in the explanation of the roles of the various gods. Currently, culture affects religion because people are seeking happiness and therefore prefer the faith that can easily integrate into their daily lives. For example, technological advances are now used to advance different religions in various parts of the world.
